Pueblo Police identified the first victim at 10:43 p.m. and the second victim, who died of his wounds at 12:48 a.m., as 27-year-old Martin Duque and 24-year-old Keyla Salazar, respectively.
“Pueblo Police Chief Pete Carey said today, October 16, 2017, that preliminary indications are that one or both of the shooters were wearing body armor and was armed with a rifle.”

Police said the shooting took place on a stage that was part of the music festival. Two music festivals were held on the grounds Friday. A Pueblo Police spokesman said the violence appeared to stem from a situation that began between two groups of people. Carey said the shooting was possibly related to the second music festival. He added that investigators were working to determine a motive for the shooting.
At least five of the victims were treated for non-life-threatening injuries and have since been released, Pueblo Sheriff’s Office said.
Two suspects are now in custody.
“Just after midnight Saturday, two people were taken into custody after being observed leaving the festival site in a vehicle,” the sheriff’s office said.
